If your customer says:

“My parents know I smoke, they say it’s OK.”

You can say:

          “No, I’m sorry, but I can’t sell you tobacco without a photo I.D. that proves you are 18 or older. It’s the law.”

If your customer says:

“My license was revoked.”

You can say:

          “No, I’m sorry, but this I.D. is not valid. I can’t sell tobacco to you without valid I.D. It’s the law.

If your customer says:

“They’re for my mom/dad.”

You can say:

          “No, I’m sorry, but I can’t accept a note from your mom. She needs to come in and buy her own cigarettes.
It’s the law.
